Giving Money

We all can be generous to those less fortunate and it only takes a few seconds to give to a person that has approached your vehicle. I no longer give when people approach my car and asks for money because I honestly feel that it is unsafe these days to do so.
There are too many ploys, plots and schemes that untrustworthy people are using to get cash or hurt others and it is sad and sickening the length they will go to just to cause harm to an unsuspecting person. I mean with all of the other horrible things that are going on in the world it should be a pleasure to help someone less fortunate or maybe down on their luck. But, instead I am trying to avoid eye contact so that they will pass my vehicle. It is all too much and depending on what side of town you are on it happens very frequently. I should feel scared to give to someone. I should not be afraid of them asking me for money and I wasn't until all of the recent incidents of people being harmed or even killed trying to help someone they thought was in need.
I think that is sad that during the most giving and charitable time of the year when we all are feeling getty and joyous that we have to think twice about doing something helping someone that is asking for a little help. So, that being said my family and I simply give in other ways like volunteering every Christmas to feed the needy, giving donations to GOODWILL, feeding people in underprivileged neighborhoods and hopefully we are looking to expand our efforts in 2019. But, I just wanted others to know that it is okay to not give to everyone and you decide what is the best way for you and your family to give and help others in a safe and productive manner. Best Wishes to All!
Happy Holidays from the Christophers
