One of my pet peeves is nasty ass makeup brushes!

Do not, I repeat.... Do not use your brushes if they have not been properly sanitized or cleaned after each use. What happens is bacteria grows rapidly on the fibers of hair on your makeup brushes because of the texture of makeup used, the temperature of the room, air density and humidity.  This results in the growth of nasty bacteria that causes acne and horrible break outs.

You can purchase brush cleaner from any local drugstore and cleaning wipes are great for when a quick clean is needed when time is of essence. But, once you get a chance later in the evening lay out your brushes and properly clean them with lukewarm water and dawn detergent or baby shampoo. Wash and rinse until there is no trace of product rinsing out of the brushes and the lather is completely white. Once clean, lay them on a folded towel or place your brushes up side down in a brush holder and allow them to thoroughly dry. So simple, but you would be surprised at how many people do not clean their brushes regularly.

The benefits of clean brushes are that they are healthy for your skin, the texture of the hair fibers are much softer plus they smell great as well. Sit back and enjoy your freshly clean, soft makeup brushes.

So, Wash!
